La Clinica del Pueblo

Third Street Center
La Clinica del Pueblo, “The People’s Clinic” originally started with the help of Valley Settlement in 2016 as a once a month Saturday am clinic. It grew in 2020 to a small space in the Third Street Center, and now with the addition of a full time medical director, to the space it currently occupies, provide lab services, better exam rooms, nutritional and chronic disease prevention support, and mental health services. on pace for 1000 patient appointments this year. With the help of our community, they just raised the $10,000 to add a mental health therapist to the staff!
The Center houses an eclectic collection of non profits, artists and small businesses at a much reduced rent compared to commercial properties in the area, with smaller space requirements, and shared expenses.A soft capital campaign has begun to raise $4M to upgrade community spaces, add a geothermal system, redo the parking lot, add EV chargers, and amortize the current remaining debtFor more details on the history, a list of current tenants, and more details on the planned next phase, see the website: https://thirdstreetcenter.net

LiftUp Important Update
Dear LIFT-UP supporters,
On behalf of the LIFT-UP board, I want to let you know – before we announce it publicly – that we are putting our Parachute and Rifle commercial properties up for sale.
This is good news. It is a strategic business decision to make LIFT-UP stronger and better positioned to meet rising food needs across our region.
LIFT-UP has been helping our neighbors in need for 43 years. It will continue to do so. It is an essential part of the regional social safety net, providing the backbone distribution network for food security efforts from Parachute to Aspen.
Unlike many nonprofits, LIFT-UP is in the fortunate position of having real property to sell. Proceeds from the sale of these assets will enhance financial stability by reducing debt, and it will free us to consolidate our food distribution system around our new Glenwood Springs Food Hub and the more efficient operations we’ve put in place there....
In selling the buildings, LIFT-UP will be getting out of the thrift store business and doubling down on its core mission of fighting hunger in the region. We will maintain pantries in all locations in 2025, with the potential to expand in 2026.
The need isn't going away, and LIFT-UP isn't going away. We're making the necessary financial adjustments to make sure of it. Our goal is to get back to financial stability by the end of 2025 so we can start to scale up to meet the increased demand that we anticipate in 2026 and beyond.
LIFT-UP is the leader in providing equitable food security for individuals and families: educating, building understanding and support to end hunger from Parachute to Aspen.
